Nursery is available Sunday mornings during Sunday School and Worship and Wednesday evenings during the Wednesday Night fellowship meal and adult study time. First Presbyterian offers a fully staffed nursery for infants through kindergarten age children. We strive to provide a safe, loving, nurturing and fun environment for our youngest members and visitors. Upon request, beepers are provided to parents/ guardians of children in the nursery.
Children are encouraged to participate in worship. After the reading of Scripture mid-way through the service, young children PreK 4 through 4th grade are invited to attend Children's Church where an age appropriate lesson is provided. The curriculum used is Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Growing in Grace & Gratitude. Each session of Growing in Grace & Gratitude is rooted in Bible stories that are helpful in understanding God's grace. Through fun activities, prayer, and singing, children are encouraged to incorporate grace and gratitude in their daily lives.
Other activities enjoyed throughout the year:
Easter Egg Hunt & Family Picnic
Trips with children from local and regional congregations (Flint River Presbytery)
"Worship Boxes” for children who remain in worship
